Trozzolo Communications Group is building on a nine-year relationship with McDonald’s, adding a new slate of Southern restaurants to its client roster.
The fast-food business unit, which consists of 400 restaurants in North Carolina and South Carolina, is the fourth McDonald’s unit to use Trozzolo for public relations. The Kansas City-based marketing communications agency initiated its client relationship with McDonald’s nine years ago, when it began PR work with owner-operated McDonald’s locations in the metro area. Trozzolo now manages public relations for more than 1,200 owner-operated McDonald’s restaurants in 11 states, including Missouri.
“It’s been a slow and steady growth by doing really good, smart, engaging and groundbreaking work for McDonald’s,” said Josh Brewster, Trozzolo’s chief marketing officer.
Trozzolo will add two more people to its McDonald’s team to handle the new unit. The agency employs around 80. It works with Westlake Ace Hardware, Boulevard Brewing Co. and the Kansas City Aviation Department. Children’s Mercy Hospital also has been a client.
The agency has been focused on expanding its client pool and its internal business in recent years. In January 2023, Trozzolo promoted two senior leaders and hired a new executive to better position the company for growth. The year before that, Trozzolo added a Milwaukee office.
McDonald’s, though, remains a key part of Trozzolo’s business and growth plan, Brewster said.
