Copywriting Intern

JOB PURPOSE

As a copywriting intern you will be engaged in crafting original, creative content for a number of clients with an assigned creative mentor to oversee your development and growth. You’ll be expected to work in teams at times to take on bigger projects and deliver creative solutions to our clients. You’ll participate in brainstorms, conduct research, learn to think strategically and develop/support other writing challenges throughout the agency.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
To be a successful copywriting intern, you should expect to execute creative and conceptual writing, long-form writing and everything in between for real clients. You should be curious, motivated and detail-oriented.

• Strong communication, research and ideation skills.

• Ability to understand the needs associated with a project.

• Willingness to meet deadlines.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The copywriting intern reports to their supervisor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help with researching relevant industry topics to identify new content. Create and edit original copy that is accurate and well-researched and meets our clients’ needs and deadlines.
• Have the ability to think conceptually and brainstorm with other teammates.
• Speak with internal parties to learn about their content needs.
• Conduct research and find inspiration to develop ideas and support writing.
• Learn about target audiences and craft engaging copy that will appeal to those audiences.
• Assist other creatives and account teams with copy needs.
