Graphic Design Intern

JOB PURPOSE

As a graphic design intern you will be engaged to create logos, marketing materials and ad campaigns for a number of clients. You will team up with other interns from copywriting, account management and PR to better understand project expectations, and produce branding with the needs of the client in mind. You will participate in brainstorms, present your own work and support other teams throughout the department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
To be a successful graphic design intern you should expect to contribute designs and high-level creative thinking for our agency and real clients. You should be curious, motivated and detail-oriented.

• Demonstrated graphic design skills with a strong eye for composition.
• Strong communication, research and ideation skills.
• Creativity, resourcefulness, flexibility and motivation.
• Proficiency with required design programs, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Receptive to feedback.
• A self-starting, flexible team player.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The graphic design intern reports to their supervisor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help with researching relevant industry trends to identify new design opportunities. Create or edit original designs to meet our clients’ needs and deadlines.
• Have the ability to think conceptually and brainstorm with other teammates.
• Speak with internal parties to learn about their creative needs.
• Conduct research to formulate ideas.
• Learn about target audiences and craft communication that will appeal to those audiences in an engaging way.
• Assist other creatives and account teams with design needs.
