Public Relations Intern

JOB PURPOSE

The Trozzolo PR intern is an extension of the Public Relations and Community Engagement Team. Our PR intern learns the basics of internal and external communications, including earned media relations, organic social media and community engagement. As a PR intern, you will attend client meetings, staff media interviews and events and interact with all departments within the agency.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The public relations intern reports to their supervisor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft media materials, including media alerts, news releases, spokesperson bios and pitches.
• Build and update media lists for a variety of clients across a variety of industries.
• Research and expand Trozzolo’s influencer media list on behalf of clients.
• Assist team members with research as needed.
• Monitor media coverage and help maintain media coverage reports for clients.
• Assist with pitching local, regional and national media.
• Work with influencers on organic posts and potentially paid partnerships.
• Develop content calendars and organic social media posts.
• Attend and participate in client meetings, brainstorms and internal meetings.
• Assist with coordinating client media interviews and help coordinate logistics on‑site.
• Help team members with tactical execution of PR plans.
• Stay abreast of current news and industry trends.
• Work closely with other interns on internship client project, leading PR and community engagement recommendations.
