Real Problem

Overland Park was living in the shadow of Kansas City and other neighboring family travel destinations. It is one of Kansas City’s must-see suburbs and is nationally ranked as an ideal place to visit, live and work. But the brand was struggling to highlight the style and unique personality the area had to offer. There was no sense of place with travelers.

Solution

Lean into the obvious. We know people travel to Kansas City, so why not own it? The campaign concept “Come for Kansas City and stay for Overland Park” capitalized on that notion.  Each element in the Come for… Stay for… campaign accomplished two goals – laying the groundwork for establishing a sense of place while positioning OP as a top-of-mind destination for travelers, encouraging them to explore more by visiting Overland Park.
